Viking Packaging Technologies Completes Addition
Kohler, Wisconsin – September 1, 2009 – Viking Packaging Technologies announces the completion of their nearly 4,000 square foot addition.
Coupled with Viking’s current 8,600 square foot building, the new space will allow Viking to expand manufacturing and keep up with the high demand for their rugged VIKING line of vertical form fill and seal packaging machinery.
Ground breaking began in May 2009 and the addition is the first of three construction phases. The second phase will add much needed office space including dedicated engineering, technical services and accounting offices and a second conference room. The final phase will be completion of an inclusive parts department and customer demonstration center.
Despite the recession and economic uncertainties, the demand for Viking’s high quality packaging machinery is higher than ever – especially in the food industry where growth has been on a steady climb. “If anything, business has picked up,” said Robb Leonhard, Vice President. “…we are also expanding our technical services and support staff to meet our customer’s machinery demands. ”
Viking’s continued growth is due, in part, to the wide offering of vertical form fill and seal packaging machines Viking offers (twelve in all) including two continuous motion baggers and stick pack packaging machines. Viking works closely with several OEM Suppliers to offer combination weighers, linear scales, volumetric and auger fillers, in-feed and bucket conveyors, metal detectors, checkweighers, date coders and more.
Viking Packaging Technologies was founded in the mid-1990s by Rick Leonhard, President. The company’s success as a packaging machinery sales organization led to the addition of Viking manufacturing and service in 2006 and an exclusive partnership with Masek of the Czech Republic, a dominant European provider of packaging machinery. Viking continues to be a leader in turn-key packaging solutions and service to meet the growing flexible packaging industry’s needs.
Markem-Imaje recently honored Viking Packaging Technologies as the 2008 Midwest OEM of the year
